Company Profile
Company Overview
Arch Technology is located in St. Charles, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, and we employ 9 people. Our sales are roughly $6 million a year and growing. We manufacture highly specialized molecules used as base fluids for high performance lubricants. One such molecule is a “traction molecule” that was originally developed by Monsanto for use in Continuously Variable Transmissions, CVTs. We now manufacture and formulate the molecule for use in high speed planetary gears but it has many other potential markets, such as the bearing market. We are currently developing a new class of traction molecules that address some of the shortcomings of the original molecule.
The second group of lubricant molecules we manufacture are polyphenyl ethers, PPEs. Originally developed by Monsanto for the SR-71 spy plane, these are thermally stable organic molecules. (Note: Our PPEs are able to withstand higher temperatures than any other organic molecule.) We still sell PPEs into a non-lubricant application, ultra high vacuum diffusion pumps, but the growth is coming from there use as connector lubricants. Our goal is to become a $25 million lubricants company within 5-7 years, which will necessitate some acquisitions.
Company History
Arch Technology Holding LLC is a holding company formed to acquire Findett Corporation, Santotrac, Santovac, and Synergy Products in 2003. Findett was founded in 1962 as a custom manufacturer of specialty chemicals. One of its major customers was Monsanto and when Monsanto decided to divest itself of some of its smaller operations, we acquired the operations. The Company is no longer in custom chemical manufacturing and all of our products our proprietary.
